Where does Plate Solve download its fits files?

Hi,

Currently having problems plate solving. Something has changed (not necessarily Ekos). Where does Plate Solving store the image it captures?

a) If I try to plate solve, the DSLR captures the image, but never completes downloading the file. I can't see in the logs where it's trying to save the file. It never gets to begin ( local) plate solving.

b) I can capture images using the capture module, which are downloaded to the local /media/odroid/sd

c) if I try a Load & Slew in Plate Solving, it will successfully load and solve one of these previously captured images [ from b) above]. It can't get a new image to compare to, which is consistent with not completing a download from the camera in part a).

I suspect I have a path problem or permission problem.

Thanks

It solved fine in the log but then the driver failed to download any image due to "unspecified error" from gphoto2. Not sure what you should check, maybe check battery and internal camera storage?

So it appears my Nikon Z7 had been inadvertently set to JPeg Fine capture format. After setting it back to RAW, the Plate solving is now getting and attempting to solve (which it probably would do successfully, if it wasn't 10 AM).

I do have a follow up question, the Plate Solver issues the following warning:
Failed to open index directory: "/media/odroid/rootfs/astrometry"
I'm not sure why it would be trying to open that directory.
In my astrometry.cfg file I have the
add_path /usr/share/astrometry
which the index dialog appears to have recognized.

So my question is where is this roots/astrometry directory specified as a requirement?

Thanks

There is another astrometry.cfg file in

~/.local/share/kstars/astrometry/astrometry.cfg

where ~ means the user’s home directory.
