As Wouter writes, just uncheck the box 'Remember Job Progress' in the Ekos configuration settings under the Scheduler tab. Then you can continue to add new frames to your existing folder.

We really need a clearer message for the situation where duplicated jobs are in the list and Remember Job Progress is active. Scheduler could also override the location and prefix of the stored frames to avoid mixing up those jobs, but we would possibly end up with multiple unfinished jobs needlessly running preliminary steps just to take partial sequences here and there... Well, I think Remember Job Progress should be disabled by default on new installations, its workflow is too unintuitive.

Sounds reasonable. But for me more important: I would like to have ALL parameters and the scheduler job settings in the log file. This would make it a lot easier to reconstruct the exact situation.

Ahhgghh... It's just taken me an hour to find 'remember job progress' I'm being super stupid today!!!

Anyway, as I understand, my issue was an exception; the repeat the same job every hour is a workaround?

The idea of aborting on error and then having the scheduler recover via align, guide and capture (which worked well a few weeks ago) would get my vote.

I really appreciate your help and understanding.

"Anyway, as I understand, my issue was an exception; the repeat the same job every hour is a workaround?"

That's correct.

I also would welcome a solution in which the loss of a guide star for more than 20 s triggers a realignment step - until the clouds are gone, if necessary.

How hard would that be to implement?

Well, not that difficult (if we set aside that our good friend the scheduler is a spaghetti code monster). But it is a change of the approach.

Currently PHD2 decides when to give up. If this happens, it gets 5 retries. When these fail, the job gets aborted.

Especially for such cases we added the option to restart aborted jobs.

Hi everyone
Now it's even more confusing!
The title of the thread was changed and I couldn't find it any longer. I had to search.
So, not sure if I need to answer this but in my case, even when PHD2 confirmed the star was lost, the scheduler did not recover.

**Please could we retain the thread title or at least tell the OP if moderated otherwise? Thanks.

This is odd.. what was the original title for this thread?

Now you've got me confused. The title of the thread is exactly the one you are stating.

Hi
It changed to:
An advice piece: "Things I've learned, while learning KStars/Ekos/INDI"
Now it's back to normal.
Thanks.
