meridian flip: guiding not restarted

Hi everyone
After the meridian flip (at ~23:14), capture restarted but guiding didn't.; I enabled guiding manually during the first capture after the flip when I realised.
What did I do wrong?
TIA and clear skies,
Steve

It seems like you stepped into a bug of the capture module. The capture module will restart guiding after the meridian flip if guiding is running at that moment when a meridian flip has been requested.

In your case it looks like that the guider was dithering and not guiding. That caused the glitch.

I will try to fix it.

Hi Wolfgang and thanks for the reply
If we are going to a meridian flip, the dither is redundant. Maybe remove the dither in these circumstances?
TIA,

Hi Steve,
the scope crosses the meridian exactly at the time when dithering was running. That's what happened in your case. Sure, we can forget it, but I am slightly reluctant to change the capture code for saving some seconds in rare cases. capture.cpp is one of our spaghetti monsters :-P

Fix is already under development.

So I may have just fixed a major issue with what you are describing lat night, but it hasn’t been integrated into the code just yet.

Hi Robert,
nope, I think that's another issue. But it is not that difficult to fix and is independent of your fix
