Installing Kstars in Mint 17.1

I'm building a new computer for kstars and I have installed Mint 17.1. I can't seem to find the PPA's to install kstars-bleeding from though. I went to the support/tutorial section and it gave me this:

sudo apt-add-repository ppa:mutlaqja/ppa
sudo apt-add-repository ppa:mutlaqja/astrometry.net
sudo apt-add-repository ppa:kubuntu-ci/unstable-daily
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install kstars-bleeding

but that fails on: ppa.launchpad.net/kubuntu-ci/unstable-da.../main/source/Sources and others with 404 - not found errors. What are the correct PPA's ?

Thank you

No PPAs for anything based on 14.04, only 14.10 and higher.

Ok, so Ubuntu it is... I saw the new mint release and thought it was based on 14.10 which lead me to my problems ;-) .. but i see that they are sticking with the LTS version for stability.

Thanks for the clairity, and as always, you guys do amazing work!

May be I should open a separate topic... but I will write it here :) Right now I have a hybrid system (Mint 17.1 and Kubuntu 14.10). I upgraded from Mint 17 (oh... that was a little bit painful!). Running KDE 4.14.2. I added the PPA repos, all 3, and installed kstars-bleeding. But got into trouble - it was saying it is unable to find citydb.sqlite. Running from terminal gave me the clue about the problem - I needed to install libqt5sql5-sqlite. I think it must be added as a dependency.

P.S. Btw, who is maintaining the city list DB? I want to see Chisinau there! B)

P.P.S. Another missing dependency - gsc (needed for CCD Simulator). But considering its size may be it is ok to make it just optional...

So the file citydb.sqlite was there but it gave you an error that it wasn't found? Ok, I'll add libqt5sql5 as dependency.

The GUI pop-up was saying it's not found, but in terminal I could see the real cause of the problem - file exists but couldn't be opened because of the lack of the SQLite module.

I am having the same prpblem with Linux Mint Tara. I try to install Kstars. Everything goes well but when i launch the program i get the same citydb error. But when I run kstars from command line I see the file is there but it can’t find the qsqllite driver.

Jasem Mutlaq provided the solution

Try sudo apt-get install libqt5sql5-sqlite

Thank you.
