I want to use the calibration section for flats, and Im not sure the óptimal para meter to set. I have an ASI183mc pro ccd, that have 12 bits, then, the Max adu I understand that is 2^12 = 4096, I'm right?, anf if yes waht para meter I need to put in the flats calibration section?
ASI driver (and most camera drivers) internally scales anything over 8-bit to 16-bit when saving FITS so you should use 65535 as the maximum value. ADU target values are a bit trickier with color cameras as different colors have different sensitivities and flat lights often don't have even spectrum, but with my mono camera I use 30000 as the target and it works well.
I have a ZWO1600 Mono and have been using 20000. Any idea how I would know if I should be using 30000? I just heard 20K someplace. This has been a bit of mystery.
Also any idea the number of them per filter? I've been using 70 of them.
I typically ignore the ADU of my flats and take 1 or 2 sec for LRGB and 5 sec foe Ha and OIiI. And 27 of them for each filter. Works fine.
