Ekos, minumum exposure time

Hello,

I'm trying to create a few bias frames, but encountering a problem with the CCD exposure setup.
I'm using a Atik460 , which supports exposures down to 0.001.
If I try to enter 0.001 , the ekos gui resets it to 0.01 . No matter if 0.002 0.003 , everything below 0.01 is set to 0.01
It doesn't seems to be a driver problem, see here:
indilib.org/forum/ccds-dslrs/244-minimum...-atik-314l.html#4290

can somebody help ?

thank you

Which KStars release do you use? There was a limit of 0.01s some time ago, no longer on current releases. I use 0.001s with current release (2.3.0 as part of KDE app) and everything is fine.

I run KStars-bleeding newest version and it offers exposure times down to 0.01 seconds but not less! More than that, my SBIG ST402 has a minimum exposure time of 0.04 seconds. When taking an image the exposure time is written as 0.01 seconds to the fits file but this is wrong as the SBIG driver actually uses 0.04s. Other SBIG cams have different min exposure times.
That is not a great issue for me as I don't use such short exposures but it may be of concern to other users.

Hello guys,

thanks for the fast response.
I'm using 2.3.0 from the repo www.indilib.org/forum/general/210-howto-...st-libindi-ekos.html

I'm running XFCE (Xubuntu)
ppa:kubuntu-ci/unstable-daily is throwing errors on my system when running apt-get update

forget about the ppa:kubuntu-ci/unstable-daily bugs. This is from an older installation (2.2.0)

On my "field" and fresh installed machine I'm running Xubuntu 14.10 and Kstars bleeding 2.3.0 from
ppa:mutlaqja/ppa
ppa:mutlaqja/astrometry.net
ppa:kubuntu-ci/unstable-daily

are there any differences between 14.10 and 15.04 ?

Hi, it seems that reason is the default value for this limit in CCD driver code. I changed it in ATIK driver to 0.00001s, can you try it with version 0.30?

You can download it here: www.cloudmakers.eu/atikdrivers/

It works like a charm. See indilib.org/forum/ccds-dslrs/244-minimum...ik-314l.html?start=6

Kstars crashed 4 times, but I think it's something else (libQt5Core)

Peter, I'm experiencing the same minimum exposure limit of 0.01s for ATIK Titan. When using INDI Control Panel it's OK. Anything below 0.01s is not available in Ekos CCD tab. Would it be the case of atik driver limitation as well? or is it something on the Ekos side?

Radek, the lower limit set to 0.00001s now. What version of the driver are you using? Peter

I have the latest (0.32) drivers onboard. Any way it looks like plbkac type of issue :) I have just found out that I'm using regular Kstars client not the bleeding version. The exposure time apparently is connected to Kstars version not the driver. Regards
