KStars/EKos Mirror lock up Canon EOS 450D

Hello,

I have a question about EKos. I have tried to connect my Canon EOS 450Da. It seems everything works fine. Only the mirror lock up does not work.

I get the error that mirror lock up is not yet supported on this model.

Is there any solution?

thank you.

Hello,

yes I can.

Im starting my Raspberry Pi. Connecting the EOS 450Da. After this switched on the mirror lock in the camera settings. After that I'm starting KStars and EKos and connecting the camera to it (USB). After that I can take a test exposure. When I turn on the mirror lock time to 2 secs the camera seems to crash. The camera is still working fine but its not respondig to usb signals. I'm also not able to disconnect the camera after that.

I'm also getting an Error Message: Mirror lock feature is not yet implemented for this camera model.

After that I have to restart the camera and KStars. If I turn off the Mirror lock time everything works fine (except Mirror Lock).

Thank you for your Help.

So in the driver either the camera has eosremoterelease widget or a bulb port, and it seems you have neither. Enable the CCD logging and let's see what the camera supports exactly.

Hello

thank you for your help.

I have enclosed the log file to this post.

I've checked if other software can use the mirror lock. EOS Backyard is working fine. But for that I need a windows laptop and not a rasperry pi. So not really an option for me.

The issue came up 3 years ago. www.indilib.org/forum/embedded-indi/1957...to-on-pi3.html#15034 AFAICS there was no solution to this other than deactivating mirror lock (in both the camera and Ekos). If gphoto2 doesn't support mirror lock in a 450D now, it probably never will.
