Plate Solving does not improve pointing error

Hey folks,

I’m at a loss here. It took me 3 months to finally figure out why ASTAP would constantly fail to plate solve my images. Tonight, I finally fixed that, and slammed straight into another problem.

No matter how many iterations of plate solving I do, my mount’s pointing accuracy never improves. It shows that it successfully solves, and that the coordinates successfully sync to my mount, but the pointing error remains around 20,000 arcseconds, which is totally unusable. It should be around 30. I’ve tried plate solving from positions all over the sky (except near the meridian).

Can anyone help me figure out what’s going on? Without alignment I’m dead in the water.

Hi! More info would be welcome. First of all, which mount do you have? Secondly, can you provide debug logs? See in the top menu Individuals -> Error Reporting which should take you to
