Hi,
I wonder if it is possible to install Kstars, INDI and Ekos on Linux mint17.1 or 17.2. I do use Linux mint17.1 and tried installing kstars-bleeding. But the command returns error: Unable to locate package kstars-bleeding. Can anyone suggest me what to do?
OK Thanks for the help. But Ekos VM should be installed on a Virtual environment, what I understand, right?. It is possible to install Kstars and INDI on any ubuntu based distribution, at least I am able to do that on my Linux mint. Since the problem is with the Ekos installation, is it possible to install that using the source code? If yes, How?
Ekos VM is a virtual machine that can be opened in Oracle's VirtualBox which you can download for free.
Latest INDI from PPA is already available for 14.04 LTS/Mint, but the issue is that KStars depends on Qt/KDE 5, which is NOT available in 14.04. Theoretically, you can compile Qt/KDE 5 on Mint 17, and then compile KStars against Qt/KDE 5, but it is very difficult to do so.
So one could install INDI on the host computer and use that to connect to all hardware, while using kstars from the VM on the same host to connect to the INDI server. Correct?

I'm wondering what is missing from the Linux Mint 17.* / Ubuntu 14.04 that prevents Qt5 development. When I open Synaptic and search for "libqt5", there is a list of 71 different packages all starting with "libqt5". What is it missing?

I have tried the VM with KStars and it's much better than I expected. Of course it's nice to have a fast machine with a lot of RAM . I have other questions but will post in appropriate forum.
