It's not clear to me can I install INDI on the standard PI OS
Where are the installation instructions, can I use the ubuntu instructions.

And is ubuntu 64bit desktop OS P4 model with 4GB+ also supported?

Thanks in advance for the advice

Chris

Instructions are at indilib.org/get-indi.html
Under the GET INDI menu item at the top of the page
sudo apt-add-repository ppa:mutlaqja/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install indi-full gsc
It works on Raspbian and Ubuntu

Astroberry Server is exactly that - Indi on top of the RP OS. But the 32 bit version only.
Currently running KStars/Ekos/Indi on two Raspberry Pi 4Bs 4GByte under Raspberry Pi OS thanks to Astroberry
Two mounts, two Fracs, a Newt and a Mak and a couple of OSC cameras.

Do NOT use the PPA on Raspbian/Raspberry Pi OS. It only works well on Ubuntu and the fact that it currently works on Raspbian is coincidence. Go to page two on that link and the instructions for (32 bit) Raapbian are there.

See my previous comment for instructions for RPi OS. The PPA solution only works on 64 bit Ubuntu and not on 32 bit Ubuntu. Any 64 bit Ubuntu, be it server, desktop or MATE, is supported.

Here is a script that installs the full imaging stack, based on Ubuntu 20.04 32 bit:
github.com/avarakin/AstroPiMaker4

Installs most commonly used Astrophotography software: INDI , Kstars, PHD2, CCDCiel, Skychart, Astrometry with sextractor, ASTAP plate solver
Sets up Wireless Access Point
Sets up x11vnc to be started automatically
Configures screen to be 1920x1080 for headless operation
Defaults to KDE Desktop, but Gnome and Mate can also be installed
Miscellaneous software:
Syncthing for syncing images into processing PC
Arduino IDE
Latest Libraw with Canon CR3 support. At this point, only CCDCiel is working with this library, Ekos crashes with it
Full headless operation

I don't think all software is available for 64 bit yet and I think 64 bit is an overkill. I run everything on 2G Pi4 without issues.
