I'll reply here just for the sake of saying that I've experienced this type of issue as well, although it hasn't happened during meridian flips but just during normal calibration in the beginning of a session.
I hope things are working well. I dont actually see any DEC excursions in the log segment you included, but it looks like the part of the log you included is at 11pm local time, and your image with the star trail is at 3:30am. For future posts with logs, please send the whole log. If you think the file is too big, then please upload it to google drive or something like that and send a link. It's good to be able to see what software is running and other related things and to compare problematic sections with sections where things are working well.
OK.
I tried it with PHD2 - worked fine without any issues.
Tried with the Internal Guider set to reuse the calibration - didn't work.
This time the first frame after the flip wouldn't acquire with a timeout.
After stopping and restarting - all was well.
So it all boils down to the first frame after the meridian flip.
For some reason it's somehow wrong with the Internal Guider.
Very annoying but strangely, not many people complaining
I am pretty sure it worked fine a year ago.
Thanks!

Here I go again...
Updated/upgraded to latest Stellarmate/KStars/Ekos.
First try - the flip went well!
Second try - same problem - guider went in the wrong/opposite direction while calibrating. After stop/start - all is well.
So, it works but cannot be done unattended.
Really upsetting.
It did work fine a year ago.

I upgraded a couple of days ago to the latest SM and KStars - same problem.
Last night I clicked on Purge All in EQMod and after that the meridian flip worked fine!
Don't know why I didn't do this before and also I don't know why it helped.
I hope it will work right from now on.

Just a quick update.
I had over 10 flips since my last post and all of them went well except for one random instance.
Not sure why this is still occasionally happening.
Again, I never had this issue until about a year ago.
Right now, though, it works pretty reliably.

I have the same issue on guiding. After the MF, the guiding doesn't restart well. So all the images captured after the MF are good for the trash !
Just a remark, all this last nights, I was imaging M106 that is high at the north. Before the MF, I make the calibration on M106 area. The guiding is enough rough, +/- 2-3 arsec, but the result on the lights is right. After the MF, the guiding seems very very good, +/- 0.2 arcsec, but the lights are very very bad.
I must calibrate again in order to obtain a better guifding. So I can't to go to bed !
