TOPIC: New rpi3 B+, would it be a straight SD card swap...?

New rpi3 B+, would it be a straight SD card swap...? 5 months 3 weeks ago #25344

If everything is working fine with you no need to update, this was for Raspberry PI 3B+ support, which you can do yourself anyway in a minute. The rest is the usual apt-get update

So how to do myself, as have got the new rpi but have not used as didn’t realise you had updated and now support it...but do t want to have to re do it all from scratch...
So with usual apt-get update I will have the faster boot up, better network, new VNC and the other updated stuff....??

Some of the system-level updates cannot be delivered via apt-get update ..etc al unfortunately, especially for the RPI +3B changes. If you submit a ticket to StellarMate, we can backup your settings and then restore them later after you burn the new image.

Please head over to the StellarMate website, there is an online chat option where you can ask about this.

Wow, having just spent about a week getting Dave Steele's raspbian version for 3B+ https://github.com/davesteele/comituphttps://github.com/davesteele/comitup (with support for local AP when in the field and local wifi connectivity when at home) with indi server, I'm pleasantly surprised to stumble upon your ready-made StellarMate OS (I had assumed it was only a hardware bundled option). I haven't read many threads yet... does SetellarMate OS support both local AP when outside of WIFI zones as well as home WIFI connectivity? I presume we could use it just as the remote indi server to a computer based KStars?

Right, in the absence or WiFi network, it automatically establishes a hotspot. And yes, you can use it as a remote INDI server.. this is how I control my home observatory.

Thanks. Might I suggest that you augment this page http://indilib.org/devices/rasbperry-pi.htmlhttp://indilib.org/devices/rasbperry-pi.html to add and additional page for your software only version as well as your hardware entry page. That is where my skimming led me to overlook the possibilty of a software only version.
