Celestron just released (or will very very soon) a new motorized focuser for their SCTs : www.celestron.com/products/focus-motor-for-sct-and-edgehd
First question : anyone heard about it or even tested it ?
The focuser can be connected to computer either through the celestron hand-control AUX port (and then hand-control connected to computer) or more directly through a USB port. In the first case, I suppose the computer to communicate to the focuser using the Nexstar protocol as it does for the mount, but I didn't find any focuser commands in the protocol documentation. Any ideas on how to talk to this kind of focuser ?
We have another thread going on this topic. indilib.org/forum/general/4470-celestron...ted-in-ekos-yet.html
There is some info on the device ID and motor commands. I have started tinkering, mostly to see if I can control my DIY Arduino focuser through the hand control.
