Thanks Chris. I have verbose logging on - not sure how to increase to more detail.
I have tried 3.3.8 with my iMac and my Macbookpro - same issue. I have done a clean install on the iMac - same issue. I have tried different USB cables, although not a different serial cable. However, if I roll back to 3.0.0. , the Moonlite works perfectly on both computers so i think it's safe to assume the serial cable is good.
Still encountering this problem with my moonlite focuser. Kstars 3.3.8 gives a serial timeout error while earlier versions do not. I have tried changing all leads, tried other computers etc - cannot stop it. Unfortunately my QHY183m does not work with the earlier versions so I cannot sue my mono camera with the latest software. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this? Thanks
So this is an INDI driver issue, not KStars (Ekos is just a client, the actual communication happens at the INDI driver level). Can you use any other software to connect to it? Let's at least rule out a hardware issue of some sort.
Logs that show the commands being sent to the focuser might help. It is definitely possible to get these because I have with my MoonLite focuser. I think it needs enabling verbose logging in the driver as well as in EKOS.
Ron Newman of MoonLite is very helpful and stands behind his products so if you can show some sort of hardware issue I'm sure he will help.
Dare I suggest testing using a Windows system and the ASCOM driver (which I wrote)
Hi Chris - I will try to generate more logging, but Jasem is on the case now. I am new and very inexperienced at all of this, but as the Moonlite works perfectly on Kstars Version 3.0, but not on subsequent versions, I can't see it being a hardware/focuser problem.
As for Windows.....I am Mac through and through and haven't got access to a windows system.
Thanks for replying. Cheers
