Asi174mm mini guidcam "freezes" in PHD2?

Hi!

I've upgraded to an ASI174mm mini as guidecam, guiding primarily through PHD2. And I have some very intermittent issues with it: it simply freezes and does not produce an image. PHD2 tries to reconnect, but fails. The only output I get from the log file is this:

ASI174MM Mini :  "[ERROR] Failed to get data after exposure (1936x1216 #1 channels) (ASI_ERROR_TIMEOUT). "

I have switched USB cables, now running an USB 3-cable directly from the guidecam to the USB3-port on the Raspberry Pi. Interesting, if I go to Indi control panel and manually click on Exposure there, it capturs one frame and then, it works again!! But Ekos can seemingly not "restart" or reconnect.

Anyone recognizes this?

You can try not using streaming on phd2 settings, it works differently and may not be affected by the problem...

Hi!

Not sure what you mean. There is a streaming-tab in the Indi-controls, now I have turned streaming off there. Was that it?

Hello, I mean from the connect dialog, in the INDI settings. (see the screenshot...)

Ah, OK, thanks! I'll try that. Do you know what it does specifically? And has it affected your guidecam in a similar way as mine?

Hi!

So I have checked the checkbox for camera NOT supporting streaming - but I still get the errors - I've had twice tonight. And just as before, I can "restart" the camera by taking an exposure from the Indi control panel for the guidecam.

And I still get no more info from the logs, except error, that is.

Any other ideas at all?

Magnus,

have you tried connecting the cam directly in PHD2 instead of going via INDI?
When I use PHD2 with a ZWO cam, I also connect the cam via the ZWO Cam in the PHD2 selector box, not Indi cam.

Hi!
Good idea! In that way, if I get it right, the indi driver is not at all used, right?
I tried last night - so far not freezing - however, being a very intermittent problem, much more testing is needed!

Hi Magnus,

correct, in that way you completely skip the Indi driver for the PHD2 cam. I found it usually more reliable, especially if you have 2 ZWO cams.

This is the 2nd report for ASI174MM not working. Maybe the latest SDK broke something? It's not the first time.

Hi!

Jasem, how can we check that? The logs still gives very little information.
