I installed the latest version of Kstars on macbook pro with macOS Monterey v. 12.0.1. When I ask to go look for the sun or any other planet that is visible, I get the message that this object is below the horizon. For other celestial bodies it works correctly. How can I correct this error? Thanks

I had that problem too and I reported it (but I am unable to find the link).
If I remember well, this is what I did to solve the problem:
1/ uninstall KStars : change the name of the folder Library / Application Support / kstars, and save it to be able to restore it later.
2/ reinstall KStars with the dmg. This will create a new folder kstars in Library / Application Support /
3/ copy all the planet related files (.vsop) that you'll find in this new folder and paste them into the old kstars folder
4/ rename the saved folder to "kstars"

and here you are !

Hi, thanks for the tip ... it works!
the planets files are already present in a subfolder inside application support -kstars called vsop87 just copy them from inside vsop87 to application support / kstars with the same result.
Many thanks again.
