I have just installed ubuntu 22.04 on a pi4, and confirm that stars 3.5.9 stable installs perfectly from the ppa.

Good news! The performance of stars and ekos under Gnome in jammy seems noticeably more snappy than in 20.04. I haven't tried an actual imaging session yet, but this is really an improvement.

Confirmed....installing fine on 22.04 LTS (kubuntu) now. already had kstars and indi-bin working fine as I'm connecting to a rPi that hasn't been updated... yet... but just installed indi-full on my pc with no conflicts or dependency issues whatsoever. Now i can connect my additional equipment to my pc too. Thanks Jasem and anyone else who sorted this for us all. :-)

I must be a little thick today as I still cannot get this to install on 22.04.

I am using these steps:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:mutlaqja/ppa
sudo apt update
sudo apt install indi-full kstars-bleeding

That gives the warning of unmet packages.....Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.

What am I missing?

Because of previous failed install attempts, I had to start with

sudo apt update --fix-missing
sudo dpkg --configure -a

Then the exact steps you did worked for me.

Thank you for that tip.

However that didn't fix the issue. I'm still getting the same unmet dependencies / broken packages message.

If you had the Ubuntu official indi installed before, you should remove them ALL first.
Some packages without 'indi' prefix should be removed like:
sudo dpkg --remove libplayeronecamera2
sudo dpkg --remove libfishcamp1

Then do:
sudo apt --fix-broken install

Thanks for the suggestions. Alas they didn't work.

As this is a new install, not yet a production machine, I just started over and did a clean install of Ubuntu 22.04.

After performing all Ubuntu updates, Kstars installed fine. Phht, go figure.

Thanks again for the help.

LATER EDIT: FIXED
sudo apt-get remove brltty
then do a restart for good measure.

ORIGINAL POST
Spoke too soon, seems there is a problem with the eqmod driver or the kernel driver for serial, my HEQ5 mount no longer connects to INDI via FTDI cable. Had to resort to my windows setup last night (the mount worked there).
Here's some context:

dmesg
[ 5284.449239] usb 2-1: new full-speed USB device number 8 using xhci_hcd

Here's the Ekos log for the mount, seems to only find my laptops' 4G Modem:

Later edit: After removing brittly still getting the following errors:

Just re-upgraded to Ubuntu Mate 22.04
All installed ok, indi-full & Kstars, connected all my equipment except mount (it's too far away) connected.

Thanks Jaseem, great stuff...
