Hi everyone

kstars will not start:
ubuntu 20.04 kstars-bleeding stable updated today:
kstars: symbol lookup error: kstars: undefined symbol: _ZN7SSolver10Parameters14convertFromMapE4QMapI7QString8QVariantE

tried building stellarsolver and have:
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu$ ls -la libstellar*
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 21 may 22 18:45 libstellarsolver.so -> libstellarsolver.so.2
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 23 may 22 18:45 libstellarsolver.so.2 -> libstellarsolver.so.2.3
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 6240544 may 22 18:45 libstellarsolver.so.2.3

Solution
Build kstars and stellarsolver from git.

Cheers.

And here too:

"kstars: symbol lookup error: kstars: undefined symbol: _ZN7SSolver10Parameters14convertFromMapE4QMapI7QString8QVariantE"

Reverted to 2.2 (libstellarsolver_2.2+202203160459_ubuntu20.04.1_amd64.deb) and KStars is up again. So the problem is the new one (2.3).

This is the Xsession error log message. Consistent in Ubuntu 21.10 and 22.04
kstars: symbol lookup error: kstars: undefined symbol: _ZN7SSolver10Parameters14convertFromMapE4QMapI7QString8QVariantE

I think this means the launcher icon is pointing to the wrong target - but I'm no expert :)

Same problem for me too :(

btw, Indi Web manager app can start the simulators without any issues.

However, recompiling from the github sources fixed the launch issues for me. I have a Celestron device connection issue now, which I haven't investigated.

Unfortunately the original launching issue persists after upgrade. KStars will not start on Ubuntu 22.04

Cheers
