Don't worry Akarsh,
I have write and modified code in my young years :) . I know how we can feel when introducing a bug in a working app.
All run fine now.
Thank you.

I have the latest vm and the update to KStars isn't showing up.....I have tried sudo apt-get update and, while I am seeing updates for the drivers, etc., I don't get an update for KStars...
I also have tried Synaptic and it still lists 5:16.04+r5904.2598 as the latest available.

Still having this problem......I cannot get the latest version of KStars. I have tried:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade

I have uninstalled KStars and reinstalled with:
sudo apt-get install indi-full kstars-bleeding

and I still get the older version.

I even tried building the latest version and the build fails with 2 errors .....

I am open to more ideas. I could try and rebuild and post the 2 errors but I doubt that's helpful. There are no logs to post from KStars as it crashes as was posted by the OP.

Thanks..maybe time to remove the VM and start from scratch.

Fixed by updating VM....

Has the fix been pushed to other environments as well? I'm seeing this issue for a fresh build of RPi2 running Ubuntu Mate 15.10.1 (more details below)
Thanks, David

root@ubuntu15rpi2:~# apt-cache showpkg kstars-bleeding

Hi!
The version you are running is the one introducing the bug.

There is the folowing: kstars-bleeding 5:16.04+r5975.2606~ubuntu15.10.1
But it failed the last build, 8h ago for armhf. You will to wait for the next successful build and update again.

You can see here:
launchpad.net/~mutlaqja/+archive/ubuntu/...d.series_filter=wily

Correction: I just notice all builds failed from the version you are using, so no newer package than your's:

launchpad.net/~mutlaqja/+archive/ubuntu/...d.series_filter=wily

You should really update to 16.04 to keep on track with the newer versions.
