To try to reach automation in my observatory before astronomical darkness returns (Aug 22th) I want to build the meteostation
indiduino.wordpress.com/2013/02/02/meteostation/
By looking at the info I have some questions about the hardware used. The links in the description is of old out of stock products.
So this is the list I have come up with so far.
- Arduino (Pro Micro Arduino www.kjell.com/no/produkter/elektro-og-ve...tDetailedInformation
- WiFi module www.kjell.com/no/produkter/elektro-og-ve...no-esp8266-14-p90745
- Barometric pressure sensor BMP180 looks to have replaced BMP085 ebay 201414876396
- DHT22 AM2302 Humidity sensor ebay 201124429073
- MLX90614 IR temperature sensor ebay 191869849584
- Cheapest solar powered LED light for daylight sensor www.clasohlson.com/no/Glasskrukke-med-so...ebelysning/36-6482-3
- Acryllic sheat www.clasohlson.com/no/Akrylplast/Pr341360000
If these hw selections wil work I still wonder where to mount the sensors.
I plan on mounting the IR temp sensor and the solar cell on top behind a sheat of acrylic glass.
Then have the Arduion with the WiFi module inside of the housing.
For the Barometer and humidity sensor I will mount them inside the housing to keep them dry, but have vents so they are exposed to the outside air. They will be mounted in their own compartement so they will not be affected by the heat of the arduino.
As I understand it, the humidity sensor should not be exposed to rain?
Also in the text it is mentioned that MeteoStation supports two external temperature sensors, but it does not say what sensors are used for mesuring ambient temp, is the DHT22 used for this too?
Hope someone has a little more experience with this, and can give me some tips.
I will design the housing when I know what to make
