I'm afraid GDB is the only way to get a backtrace now.

We can only know for sure if we get the backtrace. btw, you can compile gdb if there is no package available for your distro.

Ok I made a change that _might_ address your issue, please update indi-gphoto, compile, install, and retest again.

knro,the latest code behave just like the old code .indi_gphoto_ccd crash when I click the connect button in indi control panel .

start the old one :
indiserver -vv -m 100 /usr/bin/indi_gphoto_ccd

start the new compiled one:
indiserver -vv -m 100 ./indi_gphoto_ccd

I will post the gdb log here tonight.
