Guide image turns up in Fits viewer when using PHD2

Hi!

There used to be an issue, that the image from the guide scope was shown in a FIts viewer window as well as in PHD2 when using PHD2 as external guider. Then this was solved. Now this happens again for me. THere used to be a solution by unchecking the checkbox in Indi Image Info tab, for Image Data. However, now this seems not to solve the issue, at least not for me. So get the FITS viewer window popping up in a somewhat irritating way, every 2nd second - until I move it away at the bottom of the screen.

Is there a way to solve this?

What cameras? what KStars version? Probably a good idea to put such information along with your gear in your signature since I have a gold-fish memory.

Hi!

OK. Kstars 3.0.0, running on Stellarmate, on a R-Pi 3. Guidecam is Lodestar.

Stupid question: how do I put that in my signature....? I click on Profile tab above, then "Edit" in the signature window header, then what...?

Hi. Make sure you have no guide camera listed in your ekos profile under 'guider'.

Hi!

I'm not sure what you mean. I have a guidecam in the profile, so that Indiserver starts with the module loaded. And PHD" connects to the Indiserver.

I've had the same setup for a long while, but this behavior only started very recently, possibly after latest upgrade to Kstars 3.0.0 (not really sure though).

Hi. PHD2 connects to the indiserver when it needs it e.g. for your guide camera.
I think you only need specify a guide camera in the ekos profile for the internal guider.
The behaviour changed when this was fixed and no guide camera now needs to be specified. HTH

In the EKOS Guide Module, open the options and uncheck the box 'Receive external guide frames'

That is strange. Might be worth trying to toggle it on then off again with a restart of KStars in between.

I see the same behaviour from time to time. I don't know what conditions induce the behaviour or prevent it. I've thought it might be camera driver related as I am using QHY9 for imaging and QHY5 for guiding, and both cameras are attached to the same driver, so there may be some common state which is confusing, but given your experience, this is likely not the case. And I've seen this behaviour from Kstars 2.9.4 to the nightly builds from two nights ago.

I was referring to the 'Receive external guide frames' box.
