Qhy2Pro not working? :-(

Hi!

I have a QHY2 Pro that I was hoping would work with indi. When I start the driver it sees the camera and I am able to change things such as gain and offset in EKOS, but when I try to take an exposure from EKOS I get the message

[ERROR] Set expose time failed (-1).

I tried to run qhy_ccd_test which gives this output to the commandline

I am running ubuntu 16.04 on a Raspberry Pi with the latest indi from 'apt'.

Any ideas for getting this to work?

Best Regards
Søren

I looked for QHY2Pro in the library file itself, and it is there, but it may not be supported. I believe the original QHY8 is in the same boat - its there, but the INDI QHY driver doesn't recognise it. I don't know how old the QHY2Pro cameras are, but my guess is that QHY is beginning to drop support for some of the older stuff. It can be difficult to maintain and keep software current with new operating system releases, especially if the older OS's are also dropping off.

That's annoying! Is it possible to try to go back to an old version of Indi? I am pretty sure it has worked in the past...

No real reply from qhy yet...

The camera works fine under ascom on Windows 10, but I don't use Windows in the observatory.

I have also tested it under Ubuntu 18.04 on a laptop and here I get the same error as above, so it seems to be the Linux drivers that are broken.

Would it be possible from Indi on an RPI to control the camera if it is connected to a Windows 10 computer running ascom?

Is it possible to try to revert to an older indi_qhy_ccd version?

Hi!

Just want to report the great news, that a qhy developer posted a link to a new sdk in the thread on the qhy forum (see link above), and after installing it my camera is working in both Indi and ezcap on RPi3. Hopefully the fix will be in Indi in the near future.

Best regards,
Søren

I stupidly felt the need to update indi and unfortunately the camera no longer works in the latest indi (1.8.0). Not even after installing the qhy sdk, as reported in the comment above. I reported this on the qhy forum. All comments are appreciated...

QHY just send me a new libqhy and it works with the latest indi :-) Hopefully it will work it way into the normal indi release such that one can safely update in the future. QHY says it should do so! Fingers crossed :-)
