Celestron Motorised Focuser - Is it supported in EKOS yet

I've added the focuser control to the celestron gps telescope driver. It only happened this afternoon so may only be available from sources.

This is designed to work with the focuser connected to the mount using the Aux cable, NOT the USB cable. The focuser control appears in EKOS in a Focuser tab.

If you don't have a focuser connected you shouln't see anything.

Jasen - Nevermind - Ignore my previous reply - probably not posted yet.
I see - I just need to install all updates that "SOFTWARE UPDATER " gives me (on SM 'desktop' as seen through VNC).
thx

Chris,
Ok, I have set up, and can move focuser, but control panel show both Min and Max to be 0..? (although control panel showed correct absolute(or relative?) position upon opening the profile )? I assume Min and Man should open up to the values previously established in calibration run, eg from Celestron Focuser Utility ? So I should see min around 0-1000 and max >>30000?
Disconnect and reconnecting still results in Min=Max=0.
?
When focuser move was initiated, it moved and went to '0' won't budge now since it thinks Min and Max are both 0, and any movement is out of the limits. Any way to reset the Min/Max limits? I assume no way to run calibration using Ekos/Stellarmate)?

I have only USB connected.

thx

Glen, I need a debug log from the focuser with full debug turned on. This will show me what responses you are getting from the focuser.

AFAIK the focus limits default to 0 - 60000 and will only be changed in the driver by reading them from the focuser. The calibrate values are stored in the focuser and read from there so a calibrate done using the Celestron controller should update this. I sugest you do another focuser calibration. I saw the same thing with the ASCOM driver and that was fixed by doing another focuser calibration.

I'll look at putting calibrate in the driver but there's quite a lot of work involved with making it robust and user proof.

Please send the log, if I can see what this looks like I may be able to avoid it.

Chris. I can confirm that my focuser yesterday did the 1st focussing in Sirius. the SCT was commanded from KSTARS-> Indi (via indistarter as user)
I sometimes made the experience that after connection loss KSTARS<->indi, a reconnection was not possible but I need to investigate further. Once your update is on apt I will do the AUX only. Please tell me, what does eckos need to know? SCT as aux1 and focuser field empty?

- Linux Ubuntu + KSTARS nightly on the client (via CAT5 wire)

Have you tried connecting the focuser to a windows PC, run the celestron calibration utility to retrain the focuser limits.

When you reconnect it to the Stellarmate, it will reread the settings from the focuser

What I've found is that if you abort a calibration before it's finished the limits are set to 0, 0.
I'm going to check and not update the limits if they aren't sensible.

Hi,
I'm about to order the Celestron Focuser for my SCT. Is an Usb port from a Raspi enough to power it up or do I need extra power ?
Thanks!

Don't know, my testing was done connected to a RasbPi through a powered hub.

Chris. the in celestron_geps integrated focuser is reporting wrong max value (-23500) where the standalone does not.
