It has been 9 months since the last polar alignment and wanting to improve guiding I wanted to recheck it.
Using the online solver and using the default of first move west 30 degrees. It took and solved the first image, then the first slew kept on going, when it went weights up I manually aborted. Tried same thing again, then with the first slew to the east, both with the same result.
The log is attached and some times to searched on:
20:19:04 Start polar align
20:20:28 Solver completes Solution coordinates: RA (18h 21m 06s) DEC ( 89° 32' 43)
Telescope Coordinates: RA (01h 36m 26s) DEC ( 90° 00' 00)
20:20:42 Rotate to: RA 23:36:40 DE 90 from RA 01:36:25
With pier side returning east the mount issues a move west command monitoring the RA position being returned. It moves through RA 00:00:00 and keeps on going past RA 23:36:40 until it is manually stopped.
Tried GOTO to a couple or targets that worked okay.
This is indeed odd. Everything appears to be OK, but Ekos isn't stopping the mount. I added one more extra debug statement to see what's going on. Can you please recompile from GIT or wait until the next KStars nightly is built and try again? At least we'll see why the delta angle calculation is off.
Ekos commands to mount to go 30 degrees to the west, and waits until it is within 5 degrees to stop. 5 degrees is a lot but it's just a safety buffer for some fast-mounts.
