I would like to get me a motorfocuser in the near future.
To be sure it´s working with KStars, i thought i ask here at first, for some suggestions what to buy.
I have a Lacerta 250/1000mm telescope.
cheers
Niki
Skywatcher EQ6-R | Lacerta 10" Carbon-Newton | Lacerta MFoc Motorfocus | Moravian G2 8300 Color | Canon EOS 5DMarkIIIa | Lodestar X2 guiding cam | KSTARS 3.4.3. on my outdoor-Laptop with KDE-Neon/Plasma | KSTARS 3.4.3. on Remote-IMac with Catalina | KSTARS 3.4.3 on Remote-Macbook Air with Catalina
In my experience the biggest hurdle is on verifying that the provided fittings actually fit your scope. I would also prefer a solution that hosts the motor and its controller in the same unit like for instance the Primaluce Sesto Senso (which I have) or the soon to be released
ZWO EAF
.
Some other cheaper solutions are based on DC motors rather than stepper motors like for instance the HitecAstro DC controller that can be paired to a dirty cheap
Skywatcher Auto Focuser
which I also have for a wide field rig based on a telephoto lens.
