Hi, I have been having great results with Kstars and Indi, but I am now in version number confusion.

I decided to upgrade and now have more problems than before.

I am using Kstars onUbuntu on a laptop and libindi1 on raspbian on Raspberry PI.

Apt-get update on Ubuntu pulls down libind1 1.7.6

The only instructions on this site that I have found suggest 1.7.4 on raspbian.

My current problem is various drivers crashing with an EOF error, just after reading an xml file. The files do exist in the correct place.
This was reported as fixed a long time ago.

I am happy to download or Git source and build but getting stuck on which versions to use.

Please can someone recomend good versions to have on Ubuntu and raspbian?

Do you remember the version you were running before the upgrade? Could you not downgrade back to this version?
As for the upgrade, are you using nightly or main stream ppa version?

I personally do not run bleeding edge versions, ie: nightly updates.

I think I am sorted now.

I have downloaded and build indi 1.7.5 on the RPI and it looks like it is ready to go.
I can control the mount and cameras again.

So it looks like 1.7.6 won't run on the RPI at the moment.

Good to hear you got it sorted out, if you have any logs abut 1.7.6 not working on the RPI please do share.
Also don't forget to include which RPI version, which Raspbian etc... thanks

Thank you for your help and support but I am now working on 1.7.6

I captured the logs for 1.7.5.

Rebuilt and installed 1.7.6 libindi and 3rd party drivers.

And to my surprise it now works. I can see the scope moving in my garden.

Logs look OK.

So I have not raised a bug report.

I am wondering if I had a mismatch between 3rdParty and Libindi versions?

I suspect an intermittent fault in my brain to fingers interface. It is a shame I can't supply the log files for that.

Thanks yet again for the help on this forum.

I am going to try a quick mosaic arrount M87 to celerbrate the Black hole image. It's a bit low for me and patchy cloud so....
I am hoping the mosaic works smoothly now I have upgraded.
