usb devices do not disconnect properly

One of the most annoying things I keep running into is drivers that won't DISCONNECT when they fail to connect and you hit the disconnect button. There must be a way to program a watch for this cancel button that would make all the drivers behave themselves when they hit the wrong port. This happens so often you only need to move one cable connection to recreate the problem. grrr.

Segmentation faults prevent me from getting reports and logs. I removed nightly and downgraded to last stable, apparently 4 days ago which seems to have stopped the segmentation fault for now. The fault did not display any reason or code but since I was using nightly I expected such things to happen from time to time and keep the other repo handy. I got my usb ports sorted now and am going to test to see if my "fix" for last week's camera issue works. ...more on that other thread if I get a chance.
