RLANCASTE:
I have resolved it, see edited comment above. But so you understand. No, I do not use a PC in the field. I have a portable display and keyboard directly connected to the Pi.
At home though, when I am setting things up and messing around on the Pi I like to use VNC connection to the pi from my PC via an ethernet cable connected to one of the 2 network ports my desktop has. So it doesn't even go through my home network router, but the internet is shared through the PC.
I think my issue was that the first time I ran the script I stated Yes to making a static IP, but then wasn't sure when to enter at the time. So I continued without entering the any IP. It seemed to recognise it was invalid and moved on with the process.
It did create the 'Wired DHCP Ethernet' connection, but not the second Link Local Ethernet when I did that.

I just did a complete rebuild with the latest git. I can't reproduce the error you reported with KStars. The internal simulator started and worked fine and then I tried with INDIWeb Manager app "remotely" and it worked fine too. I don't understand why you would get a message that an INDIServer is running when one clearly is not. We can ask Jasem.

Hmm, maybe my script could check the IP to make sure it is a valid IP when the user enters it, if it is not, it could warn the user and stop trying to add the Link Local connection. . .Let me consider that. Probably what happened was that the script tried to create Link Local with the invalid IP you entered and Network Manager probably rejected it.

Mine do not have such issue as well with internal simulator and with INDIWeb Manager app "remotely" and it worked fine too.

I noticed modemmanager was installed during the script run. This should be avoided/removed because it is known to cause issues with serial bluetooth (such as EQmod BT dongles)
Also, I'm not sure if it is related to your script or not, but I could not see my USB flash media drives mount at all.
Over all I must say the script worked very well. Thank you.

Yes, modem manager being removed used to be a part of the script. I can go check that it is. It certainly should not have been installed during the script run, but some other program may have it as a dependency. I can check.

Nope, weird.. it was in my steps that I had listed in 2017, but it is missing from the first iteration of the automated script. I don't remember any reason for why I would have removed that step. I can put it back.

Ihoujin,

The modem manager removal is restored.

Correct, volumes should not mount automatically because that interferes with the ability to connect to a number of cameras. Please see this for details:

Unless there is a better way to solve this problem that I don't know about?

Perhaps this is a better solution?

I can try to implement that on Wednesday.

Also, the IP address is now checked when installing Link Local, so you can't end up with a situation like Ihoujin reported.

I am aware of the canon mounting issue that has affected some users. Although I use a canon t3i, it has never come up for me.
