Recently I changed jobs and now I have a new MacBook. Today I installed KStars 3.3.9 (downloaded from the KDE website) on my MacBook with MacOS Catalina. The button bar looks weird with too large icons:
Ekos on the other hand looks fine. Any idea how to solve this?

Here (KStars 3.3.9 on Ubuntu) a right-click near the icons opens a menu where I can change the icons size.
Perhaps the same works on the MacBook, with Ctrl-click, not sure.
I just started KStars again and now the icons are OK. The difference is that I was using two additional monitors while at work and now I am at home. I'll test further tomorrow when I am back at work.

Indeed this is a monitor resolution scaling issue. When I open KStars on one of the additional monitors, the icons look ugly. When I then move the running KStars window to the laptop monitor, the icons look OK again. I will keep KStars running on the laptop screen.

I just checked, right clicking on the icons as described by Vasconet, does in fact change the size of the icons on Mac OS X as well. But I don't think that is the issue here. It looks like the icons are bigger than their containers. As Jasem said, it is probably a QT issue.
