Hi, with the association to which I belong, we also deal with the search for extrasolar planets with the transit method
and to find these stars, it would be very convenient to write the name directly in the find window.
But these are not found, so I am forced to enter the coordinates manually and
then try to find the right star for the transit.
After finding it (it takes a while!), If I click on it,
Kstars gives me no name and that's a little annoying.
If instead I always tell him to search the internet from the find window,
a good part of stars is found and at that point I see the name.
I hope I have explained myself well and I hope that the translator has done his job well!
At this point I ask: is there the possibility of being able to view these names (example: WASP-19)
directly without having to search the internet?
Thank.
We take the data from here, but I can't tell you more: var2.astro.cz/ETD/index.php
But I don't understand why if I find the internet,
in addition to finding the star, it also gives me the name,
while if I find it manually and click on it, the name does not give it!
Because names like WASP-19 are not part of the star databases shipped with KStars. When it searches the internet it finds the star and can do a cross match with the star databases shipped with KStars and display it accordingly.
