dynamic IP for server

Hi guys,

Got an issue here with the remote server, my system is going live this August, the internet connection is on a dynamic IP address.
I have the choice to go for fixed IP at extra costs.

Is there a way to be able to control a remote INDI server connected via a dynamic IP address?
Is sequencing the only way or is there something else?

I know I can upgrade for fixed IP if I really have to, but was wondering how do people cope with dynamic IP's ?

Can your router use DDNS? I have an Asus router and it came with a free DDNS service. That's the best solution IMO instead of paying extra for fixed IP.

Is it stable enough for SSH?

ok so I have now setup my own DyDNS system on my test Rpi currently located in Germany.
It's running indiserver CCD/Focuser/Telescope simulators.

So let's say, I've started a session and the IP address changes half through the session.
What would happen to Ekos?
Will it disconnect or carry on?

So today I was able to do more testing.
The dynamic IP address had not changed for a good 3 hours solid, I had the indi client on my Mac running and connected. All fine.
In the last 30 min or so, the IP changed at least 6 times now. My diy dyndns system quicked in and worked nicely.
Sadly, the connection to the indiserver got lost.

A dyndns system works fine for let's say a home webserver but not for Indi.
I'm going to get that fixed IP address after all, it's not that much more money.
