Hi,

I have been having an issue for the past few weeks. I was unable to post it because I was not recieving any logs. However, that has now been solved and here are the logs for the issues.

I cant say why it has been crashing. It seems as if it is after the meridian flip and pretty random as well.

I want to add that I am using the scheduler for everything now. I upload my sequence and press go.

I have attached both ".txt" files in thr attachments section below. I wil also include the final part fo the Logs here in this text area.

It just happened again as it was aligning just after the Meridian flip. I will try to pull this log tomorrow as well.

Ekos Debugger was designed for this. So please run KStars from within the Ekos Debugger and send in the crash report.
sudo apt-get -y install ekos-debugger

To run it, just type ekosdebugger

Thank you. So this will be able to just send the logs right to the forums here in an easier way?

I have ekos debugger running now. What exactly do I need to do? Will it automatically save a file somewhere? How is it any different than saving the log and attaching it?

Yeah, there is crash log and app log. Attach both when the crash happens.

As I've been experiencing random crashes almos every night, I've tried to install the debugger on Astroberry, but is not available. Could it be built from sources?

Thanks!

Hello All - I'm dusting off this thread because I'm running into the same issue/problem of ekos crashing in the middle of a session. I get these same errors:

QObject::startTimer: Timers can only be used with threads started with QThread
QtDBus: cannot relay signals from parent Phonon::AbstractAudioOutput(0x5f44dd8 "") unless they are emitted in the object's thread QThread(0x1ddf270 ""). Current thread is QThread(0x89ffda08 "").
QtDBus: cannot relay signals from parent QObject(0x5f44dd8 "") unless they are emitted in the object's thread QThread(0x1ddf270 ""). Current thread is QThread(0x89ffda08 "").
QObject::~QObject: Timers cannot be stopped from another thread

I saw mention of the ekos-debugger but I also am running the latest astroberry 2.0.3 image (update/upgrade) and that's not in the default repos.

my hardware:
eq6-r pro mount connected via USB
ZWO ASI294mm pro
ZWO ASI290mm mini (on OAG)
ZWO EAF (new 5V)
ZWO EFW
RPI4 w/ 8GB RAM and 64GB class10 SD
powered 7port usb3 hub
meade 130mm refractor

The guide camera and filter-wheel plug into the 294mm's hub. The 294's USB3 connects directly to the usb3 port on my rpi4. The second rpi4 usb3 port connects to a powered USB hub where the auto focus is connected/powered.

my routine is this:
# startup ekos with everything powered on (all devices green/seen)
# tripod control tab search for target, goto target
# plate solve (local database) for accuracy
# start auto-guiding (in-build, not phd2, yet)
# run autofocus for the filter I'm using
# camera tab, setup 10 (for example) subs on a given filter and other necessary camera settings and hit go (play button)

at this point the camera is taking crisp clear subs, tracking is solid and dithers between subs. I will get 2-3 subs in and ekos crashes. I will note that I connect the rpi4 to my wireless network and use a laptop with a VNC client to connect to the ekos desktop and run my sessions.

I turned on logging/verbose and that's the last entry (above) in the most recent crashes.

is there a safe place to grab a rpi4 binary of the ekos-debugger package? it could be easily scp'd and dpkg installed, correct? Is there anything else I can provide as clues?

Thanks in advance for any help/pointers. I love this project (just need more time to spend on it).

thanks Jasem! I have disabled all sounds - and of course clouds the rest of the week. More time to explore the app suite.

One thing to note is that it was very non-deterministic in that I could get 1 sub one time and 4-5 another time - perhaps it was one of the less frequent notifications triggering this that I never noticed. I'm glad to see the use of .ogg for notifications, the hallmark of a great OSS project.
