help me use ekosdebugger?

KStars nightly crashes for me many times every night after appearing to work fine.

I have installed ekos-debugger and run it, but don't see debug logs and don't know how to find them.

When I run ekosdebugger I get a window that prompts mea to start KStars. I click it. Nothing happens. At all.

So I starts KStars normally, thinking that perhaps the debugger is silently collecting logs because it's running "side by side" with KStars.

When KStars crashes, I can't find a debug log. My normal "verbose" log is in .local/share/kstars/logs, but it's cut off without writing its last buffer because KStars crashed.

Can somebody point me to some documentation about running the debugger and collecting debug logs?

I'm running ubuntu-mate (32-bit) on a Pi4.

If you click start it might take about 20-30 secs for KStars to start in debug mode on Raspberry pi, so maybe just wait a bit?

I have waited as long as 10 minutes with no response. Perhaps the debugger simply doesn't run properly on ubuntu-mate 32-bit?

I have other pi(s) running a variety of other OSs. Will give that a shot.

If this *does* work, where will the debug output be found?

I got this to work on another pi running ubuntu-mate 64-bit.

Please advise regarding the output of debugger logs: where will they reside?

Ekos Debugger has "debug log" on top and "app log" on bottom. So if it crashes, save both and attach them. The top is the more important one of course.

Replied by Craig on topic help me use ekosdebugger?

I've had Stellarmate v3.5.0 hard crashing (Kstars, EKOS, INDI control panel, FITS Viewer) all just crash while trying to work with a new camera (ASI 2600MC) with no warning errors whatsoever. So I think I need to try this. Thing is it doesn't seem to write logs to a file, but a console.

What is the recommended way to pull those logs off a Stellarmate so logs can be submitted?

Are you running KStars in EkosDebugger? this should record the complete crash.
