Hi all,
I am using PHD2 with Stellarmate and I am doing spectroscopy.
Losing the guide star isn't a big deal because I can redirect the guide star back to the slit. All I lose is some flux through the slit, the spectrum will still be valid.
So, my question is: How to avoid capture abort? (when losing the guide star).
Cheers, Arnold
Are you still using PHD2 on Stellarmate? The reason I ask is that I had been doing spectroscopy using PHD2 as a guide program with the slit. I then did some variable star work for a while. Just went back to spectroscopy and the slit in PHD2 disappears once I start "looping" on a star.
Start PHD2 in Stellarmate
Start Ekos. Everything connects just fine.
Go to PHD2. Tell it to display slit.
Tell PHD2 to start looping. Slit disappears never to be seen again unless I restart from zero.
Hi Bob,
Yes I still use PHD2 although on a RPi4. Never had this issue..... What happens if you go to the PHD2 menu and again click <show slit> while guiding?
Thanks. I've tried everything. Nothing brings the slit back. Guiding, unguided, makes no difference.
So, looks likes I've got some trouble-shooting to do.
I go out today figuring I'll troubleshoot the problem in the daylight. After spending I don't know how many hours last night in frustration, today everything works perfectly the first time, including the slit.
