I use a Sky-Watcher AZ-GTi mounted on an equatorial wedge and with firmware upgraded to AZ/EQ version 3.20 for some light load, portable astrophotography. The firmware v3.20 is not the latest AZ/EQ available for download from the SW website, but with the most recent version v3.26, the Dec guiding doesn't work properly, and the mount's Dec axis wanders off continuously in one direction. With v3.20 firmware, the Dec guiding does work to some extent although with some inconsistency. So the rms guiding error will usually measure below 3 arcsecs, but can run for a number of minutes between 1 and 1.5 arcsecs.
The driver is indi_eqmod_telescope Version 1.2 (Interface 5). The firmware version reported by Indi for AZ-GTi firmware v3.20 is '0314'. Is this an error, or some kind of Hexadecimal/Octal/Decimal transposition?
It is suggested on a Facebook AZ-GTi group that much better guiding performance of less than 1 arcsec rms is regularly obtained using NINA and the SW ASCOM driver. Is it time for an update of the Indi_eqmod_telescope driver?
