Meridian flip failed retrying in 4 minutes

Hello, i know there is another thread on meridian flip, but i think mine is different.

I have and LX200 Onstep controller.  I am just testing in my house to see if the stepper motors and other parts are going to work for my conversion to OnStep.

So i set Kstars/Ekos to meridian flip at 1.9 degress.  I start tracking a star and Ekos give me a count down to the flip, but when i tries it reports back and error.

I would turn on debugging, but the GUI does not let me.  I click the button enable debugging and imediatly it shuts off debugging....

See attached.

The INDI dialog is (unfortunately) the wrong place. You need to change it under Logging settings.

Well i did not get much more data, but i will let people that know what they are looking at take a gander.

One log files is with:
indiserver -vv indi_lx200_OnStep indi_simulator_ccd

Follow these time stamps

Here are the two entries that explain the behavior:
[2021-08-11T09:46:53.713 Eastern Daylight Time WARN ][ org.kde.kstars.ekos.mount] - Meridian flip failed, pier side not changed
[2021-08-11T09:46:53.714 Eastern Daylight Time INFO ][ org.kde.kstars.ekos.mount] - "meridian flip failed, retrying in 4 minutes"
The meridian flip is a function on the KStars side, on the INDI side its simply a slew to a certain target. The problem is that slewing to the target did not convince your mount that it was necessary to switch the pier side. Since the mount reports the pier side, Kstars detects that the pier side did not change and reports the issue. After 4 minutes, another attempt will be executed.

Typically, this is a time or location issue. Kstars and your mount have differences in either time or location (or maybe both). So please check this, if both parameters match.

I found a fix.  A fellow in the OnStep group tipped me off.

You need to set the preferred side to "East" not "Best" on the LX200 OnStep.

So now when your telescope passes the meridian with the scope on the west, the slew command happens after the meridian and the mount says i will put the scope on the preferred east side!

Not sure where i file feature request or improvements?

My LX200 OnStep wants to know when to flip meridian by Minute Angle on east and west.  Not Hour Angle.

Ekos wants to know when to send slew command either Hour Angle or Degrees.  It would be nice if OnStep gave the choice of Hour Angle, Minute Angle and Degrees.

The less math i do the better.  :)
