Downloaded the latest from GitHub today...

In the Connection tab of the INDI Control Panel there is no longer an option to specify the port for EQMOD-MOUNT. I have created a udev rule to bind it to telescopemount and dev/telescopemount exists so I believe that part is correct..

But upon attempting connection...

KStars detected INDI driver indi_eqmod_telescope crashed. Please check INDI server log in the Device Manager.

This is what I find in the Device Manager:

Github or PPA? It makes a difference because there was a PPA build issue with EQMod yesterday. A new build should be up in the next hour.

My apologies, I thought they all eventually came from GitHub. I used the a[t-get console commands.

And I've only been doing this for a month, but this is the second time this has happened in that month. Is there any software best practices I can implement to prevent this? Should I be using source code only? Or just refuse updates once something is working?

Update now, it should work.

New update for INDI came out - EQMOD is crashing again. Another build issue?

Same issue here, confirmed using the latest Ubuntu virtual machine and the latest DMG for Mac OS X. I found a suspicious line in the log:
Driver indi_eqmod_telescope: Impossible IPerm 1769238349
And for me too SVD Math Pluging seems to be related, as the above line always comes immediately after:
Driver indi_eqmod_telescope: EnumeratePlugins - found plugin SVD Math Plugin
Then the driver dies.
A sample log is attached.

I checked the INDI EQMod in the bundle and it works fine. Anyone has TeamViewer so I can login and check it out?

Jasem,
I'd be glad to help and to schedule a remote connection with TeamViewer. Usually I'm am at home starting from 7:00pm, Italian time (we already entered Daylight Saving Time, so now it's GMT+2 - if I'm right, it's one-hour difference with Kuwait). If needed, I can connect my Orion Atlas (aka EQ-6) mount to the Mac (via Bluetooth-to-RS232 or Serial-to-RS232 PC direct mode as you wish) for a real test. On the same machine I have both the native version of Kstars (DMG 2.7.7) and the virtual machine (1.6) installed in VirtualBox.

Anofeles,
this seems to be fixed, at least partially, in the latest build of the DMG for the MacOS. Please check my report here
