I would think so. I've been using it for months now without issues. I'm working (slowly) on some of the less common functions but that should not stop mainstream use. Wolfgang is working on the focuser code so not sure where that is at.

Hello,
I use tle avalonStarGo driver for a while, and I did not encounter any problem. I use the mount functions, not the focuser function.
I think it is a good idea to add now avalonstarGo driver to the main indi repository.

Hi,
good to hear that the driver is working with others as well. I have been using it now for several months and the telescope part should be mature enough to be published.

Since I got support from Avalon during developing the driver, I would like to ask them for an OK to push it to the main repository. The next week I will be awfully busy, but Christmas holidays are in sight :-)

If you want to use the latest version, please checkout the ken-self-sync branch from my GitHub repository: github.com/sterne-jaeger/indi.git

I am very close to a first public release, based on INDI V1.7.5. Please checkout the latest release on branch ken-self-sync: github.com/sterne-jaeger/indi.git

@kengs: I did some minor changes:
- bug fix for meridian flip
- tracking speed "Custom" removed. I want to stay close to the Windows StarGO implementation
- code cleanup

It would be great if you could test the latest release. I want to create a PR to the main INDI repository in the first week of January.

I am trying to install the new Avalon StarGo driver on Ubuntu 18.04 using the nightly packages. However, I am getting error messages because "indi-avalon" wants to overwrite a file from "indi-eqmod". I can work around this by uninstalling indi-full and indi-eqmod, but the indi-avalon package indeed contains indi-eqmod files:

Oppps my mistake. I was copying the build recipe from EQMod and forgot to change one variable. Ok wait a couple of hours for a rebuild.

Awesome! Now it works. Thanks for the quick fix.

Un-/parking and slewing works like a charm. I will test centering, syncing, tracking and guiding next time we get clear skies. I had some issues with the focuser, though. It is an Avalon FOCS connected to AUX1 of the mount. Indi doesn't seem to read the position. It stays at 0 when it moves out, and then doesn't allow me to move back in. But I only tested it for 5 minutes. I'll try again later.

Hi Nic,
the Avalon FOCS interface is at a very early stage. Since I do not own an Avalon FOCS, I cannot test and fix it yet. But I will try to contact the author of the focuser code.
