Hello Indi users,

Which mount and controller are you using?
Please post your setup specs.


I use an EQ3-2 and an AstroEQ as controller

I dont use the handbox, my pc is direct connect to the motor box via the FTDI cable.

I'm giving up on the EQ3-2 + AstroEQ, I just bought an HEQ5 pro Synscan. I will pick it up this coming Saturday.
Just need to order the HitecAstro EQDIR adapter for EQMOD


The AstroEQ is a great little box, can't fault it. But the mount (EQ3-2) is driving me nuts and not future proof.....

Mount - NEQ6 excellent little mount, fitted in obs on pier.
bog standard eqmod usb-serial lead direct conn laptop to mount

My mount is a Skywatcher EQ8 and connected via USB-serial converter directly to the mount.

wow an EQ8, nice. How is this mount ? Heard quite a few bad things about it.

IMHO it is a great mount, never had any problems with it and ahve been using for about 10 months now, I also read some horrorstories about it but mine works just fine :)

I have a NEQ6 Pro Synscan and I control it using a custom made FTDI EQMOD cable via a Raspberry Pi.

I use 2 mounts. A fork mounted none go to Meade 10in SC. A Meade LXD-650 goto which I could control but probably wont. And a so far unused iOptron ZEQ25GT which I intend to fully control probably with INDI for some items and what is now called PiAstroHub for the rest as I can drive this mix from an i or some other pad.

Another alternative INDI only and a netbook.

If all else fails even though I haven't used it for over 15 years an ms windows based system - not that this will ever appear on my desktop machine again.
