Mount drifts in kstars but not in reality...

Hi!

As the headline says, my mount is drifting in kstars, but I'm imaging a target and it stays dead center on the CCD during the imaging session but it is clearly a somewhat off center of the target in kstars after about 2 hours. Any idea why? Is it a potential sign of my mount not tracking properly?

Best Regards,
Søren

Are you guiding? If so, there could actually be an issue with your mount's tracking, but it is being corrected for by the guiding, so that the telescope mount thinks it is moving away from the target when really the guiding is keeping it on the target. One possible cause of that kind of issue would be an issue with polar alignment.

Thanks! I'm guiding. My mount is pretty close to polar aligned. Last night i saw the same thing without having added any allignment points to the mount, so i assume eqmod would think it is perfectly polar aligned.
