broken pipe? was created by Ron Kramer

I don't know how to fix this. I tried what little I knew.
Do we have a package manager on the stellarmate?
I was gonna sudo su it - but afraid I'll break more pipes ;-)

Package installer is throwing out an error and -f didn't fix it. I hate things untidy. = )

Whenever I need or want to update the packages on my Linux machines I use these four commands. The first downloads the updates of the repository and tells the system which packages can be upgraded. The second upgrades packages that don't have new and uninstalled dependencies. The third upgrades the packages that do have those and also installs those new dependencies. The last one, finally, deletes any downloaded .deb files to free up disk space.

sudo apt update
sudo apt upgrade -y
sudo apt dist-upgrade -y
sudo apt clean

Now, I don't use StellarMate so I do not know if these commands can and will break your system. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!

WHATEVER YOU DO DO NOT USE THESE COMMANDS WITH STELLARMATE....YOU WILL BREAK BIGTIME...
the reason being it will try to upgrade to Ubuntu 18.04 and then nothing will work.... :(

What app is it, and can’t you just uninstall the app, as you if don’t need with SM, so maybe don’t install, there are unmet depenancies, and they may not exist anymore... :)

I already diverted that disaster. I asked if I wanted to update I said yes and it did a LOT and said - it was (like lots of MB)and will take a half hour. I WENT WHAt! on a PI? I said no... but maybe I corrected something. Seems I need to toggle off the ubuntu repositories?
I figured the PI has no room for that update. And figured that was why I had Ver 16 instead of 18. = )

I got it fixed thanks for the heads up. Once I realized this was a OLDER SMALLER OS - and I shouldn't update it - I removed the ubuntu repositories and (WELL ALL) then then just added back in ppa/mutlaq (Jasem's)
ran the -f install update and it removed the offending packages I didn't want to install. All is clean now. (whew)

I have the exact same error message appearing after trying to update Stellarmate OS. Everything still works, but I really don't like the fact that now the system has a "problem". I've tried several different sudo apt-get commands, which neither broke anything else nor fixed the original problem.

This is essentially a problem with some debian packages.. unfortunately, you might encounter them from time to time. I already mentioned on indilib.org/download/ubuntu.html what do do about such errors:

I only ever use the SM updater and it DOES NOT update Ubuntu version, it must be set that way, as SM will not run on 18.04 hence why they come with 16.04 on them....
I have never experienced any issues at all when updating, like you have...in 18 months of owning it.. :)
