@ RLancaste
A couple of questions: what antenna do you use to increase network coverage? And second, are they plug and play? Without having to change anything in the operating system used in the RB?
Thanks in advance...

Found it, he linked to it in this thread:

Its a pretty stiff cable, you need a bit of length to get the curve you need, at least I do the way I have the hub and sbc oriented.

So, it's 1ft after all...
The connectors take half the length of the cable..
I am going to cut it, open the hub and solder the cable to the board...

Here's some negative advice:
This one, Amazon's choice, did not work out: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DQFGH80/ref..._title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It couldn't seem to work with the shoestring cable www.store.shoestringastronomy.com/products_eq.htm and atlas pro mount.

On Jasem's advice, I replaced it with a D-Link,
I picked this one: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005AS337Y/ref..._title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
and things work fine.

I use StellarmateOS on a RPi 3B+.

I also used a powered USB hub, but without success.
"LYFNLOVE 4 Port USB 3.0 Hub with Power Adapter and Charging Port"

Most peripherals couldn't be found mostly the camera. This was before I even had my focuser. The other reason I got it was to power my lens warmers. But I ended up getting a surge protector that had USB ports. So it just sits in my bin of forgotten goodies. ;)

Hi. After having various issues keeping all my devices connected I followed the advice and got myself a powered USB hub.
I have a Sitecom CN-084 7x USB 3.0. It's fairly vompact and nice and thin. I sandwich it between the Powerbox and the Pi. Up until now it is working perfectly. I plug all my devices (HEQ5-Pro, EOS 6D, Pegasus Personal powerbox, QHY tracking camera, SensoSesto focusser) into the hub. I power the Pi and the Hub from the powerbox (using 2 BEC's to step down the voltage from 12V to 5V).

I use FITFORT 7 in 1 hub (i have found interesting сomparative artile about usb hubs here www.bestadvisers.co.uk/usb-hubs). The hub is plugged into the Stellarmate, other devices into the hub. I must admitt that is very handy that FITFORT have even SD port for SD and a separate one for microSD cards

This hub works very well. The only drawback is that it is a USB2 hub. It runs via a 12V battery and has ESD protection onboard:

Hi!

Yes, I agree, that hub woks very well and runs on 12V which I find makes it easier. StarTech also has a range of other similar ones. I now use a 7 port USB 2-hub from them. Works very well too!!
