Starting Phd2 on bootup was created by Omar

I know this is a very basic question, but I am using Phd2 now to guide. Can anyone help me with setting Phd2 to start when SM boots up? I have searched but can't figure it out. I'm new to the Pi. Thanks in advance!

One way would be to add a file to the autostart directory on your system. This is how AstroPi3 starts conky.

For eample creating a file called something like startPHD2.desktop that contains:
[Desktop Entry]
Name=StartPHD2
Exec=PHD2
Terminal=false
Type=Application

The location that this file goes into varies, with a Mate system it is in /usr/share/mate/autostart/ while on a Raspbian system in ~/.config/autostart
In fact this file already exists, it is in ~/Desktop so copying it to the appropriate autostart directory should work.

Hi Chris,

The desktop file copying into autostart worked! Thanks so much for your help! Much appreciated!
