Do I need to add a repo or something? Worked without fuss on previous versions.

I'm trying to build Kevin's Waveshare Motor HAT driver, which I have done many times before.

Thanks,

rw

There is no build-essentials, but build-essential (without 's' at end)

$ apt search build-essentials

$ apt search build-essential

build-essential/stable,now 12.6 amd64 [installed]
Informational list of build-essential packages

It should be available on each DEB Distribution.

Just to be sure whole command is "sudo apt install build-essential"

Yeah, I mistyped it in the header. Definitely does not work as "build-essential". I'm sure it's a missing repo but I've no idea where that lives, and Google has so far failed me.

Well, of course it was something stupid. I forgot to do "sudo apt-get update" first.
