Interface with Home Assistant

It would be nice to add an interface with " Home Assistant "

Many automation procedures in an observatory can be automated with IoT devices (plugs, lights, sensors, ...).

Home Assistant is an open source project to control IoT devices from many manufactures from a local server (not relying in private cloud services) suitable for Rasperry Pi devices.

An interface between INDI and Home Assistant will provide the benefit to access a lot of the new and cheap devices (such Shelly ) to automate our observatories.

The reverse could also provide voice control to our telescopes ("Ok Google, point telescope to M42")

Also, having Home Assistant included could make Stellarmate a more valuable gadget.

Reviving an old thread here, but you may be able to do this with the indi-mqtt-bridge I wrote.

Can you explain what the bridge does and how to implement it? I would like to run ASIStudio remotely by access the equipment at the scope on the Rpi running a server.

thanks,

The bridge will do nothing for ASIStudio. It just translates all the indi messages that get sent to/from drivers into messages in MQTT, a common "Internet of Things" messaging protocol.

hi,

This has to be installed on the Stellarmate host?
Then I have to install docker?
Then can I really full control scope and dome from remote?

regards
Stefano
