Hi!

Is there a way to restrict the range of movement for the focuser, not just in terms of maximum position but also minumum? If not, could that be added? To be specific: My focuser has a focus point somewhere between 1000 and 1100 ticks. I would like to say to the focuser that it can not move outside of that range.

What happens at times is that when for instance a cloud passes by, the focuser ends upp in a very different position, like 145 ticks. I don't know why (after failure, it is supposed to go back to starting position). What I do know, is that if it goes too far off, it might catch onto a part of the doughnut produced by my SCT, and then progressively go out of focus. When it has gone that far off, there is no chance that it will find the focus point again, and the rest of the night is lost.

I use Linear algorithm and that is highly stable - until the above happens....

Anyone recognizes my scenario, and/or have suggestions on how to strictly set the limits for focuser movement?

Magnus
