Hi Jasem, i see your replay in gphoto gitub. Thanks so much for your excellent support
.

Yesterday i made a lot of tests with sony a7s. Here some info if can help you:

1) My old configuration where sony works and new configurations where doesn't work return me the same info about list shutterspeed with gphoto2 command:

/main/capturesettings/shutterspeed
Label: Velocità otturatore
Readonly: 0
Type: RADIO
Current: Bulb
END

the only (apparently) difference is the kstar version (2.9.7 new and 2.9.5 old) and gphoto2-libgphoto as report in forum topic. But downgrade gphoto/libgphoto as my old configuration doesn't fix the problem. So the only difference appear the kstar version….maybe some changes about bulb/shutterspeed?

2) anyway i can change shutterspeed with gphoto2 command.( gphoto2 --set-config shutterspeed=xx).

For example i can set in camera 1 second using 10/10 or 1 values.. for 30" can use 30 or 30000/1000.. ecc. to set bulb mode i can use a lot of value: 31000/1000, 40000/1000, 32, 35 ecc,...

3) Important: in my old configuration where sony works i can set the exposure in ekos pannel but in camera the setting seems to be ALWAYS bulb also for wesposure < 30 sec. Sees to change only the time of bulb exposition not the shutterspeed…..

4) in my old configuration i can take photos from sony using "Gphotoccd" or "sonydslr" in ekos setup. sometimes i have Crash warning but works anyway. in new configurations sony doesn't work (sonydslr or gphotoccd)

5) i test gphoto command for bulb mode and this works:

gphoto2 --set-config bulb=1 --wait-event=40s --set-config bulb=0 --wait-event-and-download=2s

Not work…:(

After a few attempts i downgraded gphoto and libgphoto (Or at least I think so, see attachment for details) but sony doesn't work...:(

I don't know the differences between "candidato" and "installato"...

maybe there something between Gphoto and Indi/ekos that must be done? Or can be something about (k)ubuntu 16.04 and 18.04?

Ok, i will try

only few things:
1: i must unistall gphoto and libgphoto before install hold versions?
2: if i can install hold versions, what's going on when i will launch "apt-get upgrade" and "apt-get upgrade"? Gphoto and Libgphoto will be upgrade to the last release?

For build hold versions:

1: download the hold packages from gphoto website
2: unzip packages
3: cd libgphoto2-2.5.16
4: ./configure
5: make
6: sudo make install

7: redo same steps for gphoto2-2.5.15

Correct?

Thanks

I forgot one thing:

This is the version of Gphoto installed on EeePC.
(2.5.15-2)

I do not know how the communication works between Gphoto, Libgphoto and Ekos but I think it might be useful to know that with these versions of the software the Sony A7S is usable.

I hope this information can be useful to find a solution

I would try to uninstall all Gphoto and Libgphoto and reinstall old versions on the ASUS T100 but I'm a noob and I have no idea how to do without combining disasters

Damn... there's something strange:

I had installed Ubuntu 16.04 Lts on an old Asus EEEPC with Indi etc... And the Sony A7S worked!!!

Now the EEEPC is really too slow and I decided to recover an ASUS T100; After several problems I finally managed to install Kubuntu 18.04.1 on Asus T100; I put Indi etc...with last gphoto... And Sony doesn't work anymore!!! Now i find all the problems marked by other users...

In attachments you can find the libgphoto version used on asus eeepc (i try this evening and sony works correctly)

Now, Is there a way to install this version of Libgphoto on Kubuntu 18.04.1? (I honestly do not want to redo the operating system on T100 with the risk that it does not work)

Thanks

Hi,

i use sony A7S but gphoto drivers have a lot of problem.
Maybe you can find something here: www.indilib.org/forum/ekos/1679-problems....html?start=36#13742

At post #13742 i explain my workflow to use Sony A7S.

I use Ubuntu 16.04 LTS and here the last libgphoto version is 2.5.9.

The last libgphoto version available is 2.5.12 (in this version some bugs for Sony should be fixed...). With help of a friend now i can use 2.5.12 version (Zesty packkage) in ubuntu 16.04 but the problems still remain... So in the end i still use my workflow

Sorry Jasem but my issue remain the same.

i launched update, upgrade and dist-upgrade
restart pc
i start Kstar and Ekos
I open Scheduler, find an object (M42) and open an esq sequence
then i try to crate a mosaic job and i find always the same data (screen shot attached)
If i change rotation, overlap and mosaic grid the "update" button works and i can see the difference in the window; but if i change "Focal lenght" and then click on "update" nothing change and the FOV are always the same.

Hi,

Today i made a test at home to create a mosaic.

My focal lenght is 420 mm. Now, when i open mosaic planner i find 1430 mm (maybe i enter this value the first time that i opened mosaic planner, i can't remeber).

There's no way to have the correct FOV: the parameters of camera are correct and i can only change the value on focal lenght but the FOV don't change and are Always wrong... i tried "udpdate" but nothing change.

Reading the previous posts i tried to create a new setting but in mosaic planner i always find 1430...

The values in Ekos Mount module are always ok with 420mm and also in align module the FOV value is correct...

What's wrong? how can i change this value to create the correct mosaic? is there a setting in Kstar to change?

Maybe i have to solve a capture during live session to have the correct focal lenght value on mosaic planner?

Next week i will buy a GSO RC6 and i would like to made a mosaics some time with both configuration

i use ubuntu 16.04 lts

Thanks
