Using the nightly builds PPA seemed to work, and my KStars option is back. Hooray.

Try clearing your local apt cache
> sudo apt-get clean

And then be sure to use the nightly PPA

sudo apt-add-repository ppa:mutlaqja/indinightly
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install indi-full kstars-bleeding

Thank you for your attention to this. And all of the work you do in general! It's critical for me.
Would it be possible to keep a prior version of the build in the PPA for thees kinds of situations? Could be less stressful all around!
