I was able to create the WIFI connection using the external dongle via desktop.
In the android APP I cannot choose the dongle. It always uses the internal WIFI and creates a new connection. Probably I don’t know where the option is.

What I am struggling with is connecting to stellarmate through the BrosTrend either with the android App or with the dashboard (stellarmate.local/)
What does work is using IP of WIFI Dongle and XXX.XXX.XXX.XX:6080/vnc.html
In the app I tried adding a new device with the IP of the external Dongle Wifi, but it always fails.

Any Ideas for the Android APP and the dashboard?

Best Regards
Sven

Hello Jasem,
Thanks.

First I like to connect stellarmate to my home wifi using the external BrosTrend Dongle.

I oppened the updater, the external dongle is indicated with a green button and an IP.
The option to run hotspot through external dongle is there as well.

If i take my existing connection to my home wifi in the menu advanced Network settings and change only the decice from WLAN0 to WLAN1 it does not connect.

After restart stellarmate opens the hotspot mode. Priorities are not changed
Hotspot -10 and Wifi Network 0.

Are there other options which i have to change?

Best Regards
Sven

Hello Everyone,

After no success with my CSL WLAN Adapter I tried the BrosTrend 1200 V2. Because I heard a lot of good things in this forum.
I followed the instructions on deb.trendtechcn.com/ and entered

sh -c 'wget deb.trendtechcn.com/install -O /tmp/install && sh /tmp/install'

Installation was successful (no asking of password for root rights).
Afterwards in my WFI connections I have the options of Device WLAN0 and WLAN1.

If I pick one in an existing WLAN connection and restart the RPI I cannot access the RPI after restart by WLAN.
If I create a new WLAN connection in the dashboard the device part is empty in advanced network connections.

Does anyone know what I have to do that I can use the WLAN Dongle?

Best Regards
Sven

Hi Jasem,
I have to admit I dont know.
Do you see any possibilities for SM OS or is it easier to use an other WLAN-Stick?

Hi Jasem,
I tried the SM OS v1.7.8 from 2023-08-01. Same Situation as before with the WLAN-Stick.
Probably there was not enough time to integrate the drivers?

Hello Everyone,

I need some help to implement my WLAN-Stick (Image 1).
According to another user it should be ok by Plug and Play.

It is plugged to the USB-Port and on the Stellarmate dashboard I can see it in the USB-Section (Image 2) but without drivers?

In Stellarmate I cannot find it or use it.
If I am looking in Network Connection Part under devices there is only one wlan0 (image 3).

If I understood it right there should be two options wlan0 (internal RPi)) and wlan1 (USB-Stick)?

I tried other solutions with network over AC-Connection but my outdoor power outlet in the garden has another circuit and connection therefore is really slow.

Best Regards and thanks for any help.
Sven
